Pressure Cooker Recall

Sensio is committed to the safety of our customers. In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Sensio is voluntarily recalling certain models of pressure cookers. We have identified that the pressure cooker’s lid can unlock and be removed during use, causing the hot contents to unexpectedly splash out, posing a burn hazard.

Sensio is offering a refund to all qualifying customers of $43.00 for electric units and $9.00 for stove-top units. If you paid more and provide satisfactory proof of purchase, you may qualify for a larger refund.

Recall Summary

Name of Product: Bella®, Bella Pro Series®, Crux® and Cooks® 6-qt., 8-qt. and 10-qt. electric pressure cookers and Bella 5-qt., 8-qt. and 12-qt. stove-top pressure cookers

Hazard: The lid of select pressure cookers reportedly can be opened under pressure if not used in accordance with the instruction manual, posing a burn hazard.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using a pressure cooker affected by this voluntary recall and contact Sensio for a refund.

Units: About 581,800 electric pressure cookers and about 278,000 stove-top pressure cookers

Description: This voluntary recall involves Bella, Bella Pro Series, Crux and Cooks 6-qt., 8-qt. and 10-qt. electric pressure cookers and Bella 5-qt., 8-qt. and 12-qt. stove-top pressure cookers. The Brand name and Item # / Model # are located on the bottom of the unit.

Incidents/Injuries: Sensio has received approximately 55 reports of consumers able to open the pressure cooker’s lid under pressure which can cause burn injuries.

Sold at: Department stores, club stores and mass merchandisers nationwide including Macy’s, J.C. Penney, Lowe’s, Kohl’s and Target, and online at Amazon.com and other websites from approximately Sept. 2015 through Sept. 2020 for about $36 to $69 for electric pressure cookers and $14 to $22 for stove-top pressure cookers.

Your product may be covered by the recall. Please stop using it immediately. We ask that you participate in the recall by registering online at https://recall.sensiobrands.com. After we verify the information you provided, we will arrange for you to return your unit to us via Federal Express – free of charge. After we receive the unit, we will process your refund.
If you do not have the purchase receipt, you will receive $43 for an electric model and $9 for a stove-top model. If you do have the purchase receipt, you will receive a refund in the amount that you paid for the product.
You will receive a full refund for what you paid for the profit if you have the purchase receipt. If you do not we are providing a fair refund taking into account the product age, reasonable allowance for use, rebates provided, and lack of MSRP.
